Marquette, MI –July 3, 2018 – These fine men are working extra hard this holiday week!
Todd Noordyk, Luke Noordyk, Joe Mueller, and Tim Piirala are on site at one of our towers, and have climbed to the top at 700ft the last two days! They are repairing the signal of 92.7 WRPP Real Classic Rock after the antenna was damage from a lightning strike. The guys will also be improving the signal of 89.3 and 88.9 KLOVE!
Have these four amazing men in your thoughts this holiday week as they fix and improve your favorite radio stations. Also a shout out to their families who love and worry about them while they are working and climbing.
Thank you listeners for being patient while the repairs are being done. Prayers for their safety and a quick repair are appreciated.
From all of us here at Great Lakes Radio Inc., we wish you a safe and happy Fourth of July!
Marquette, MI – June 16, 2018 – Marquette Township’s“Catch the Vision” Car Show and Cruise took over the Westwood Mall parking lot near Appleebee’s for year nine of the community car show. Township folk walked down each aisle to see all the classic cars, win some prizes, and have a great time. Major Discount was on the scene to tell you about all the excitement.
Listeners heard from numerous guests over the year while tuned into GTO 97.5! Everyone was eager to tell listeners about the day’s events. Today’s Car Show started around 11am as the Westwood Mall parking lot filled up with classic and modern vehicles. This year saw the return of a fan favorite, “Rev it Up”. All of the participants let loose and floored their gas pedals! The owner of the vehicle with the best “scream” won one of the numerous prizes that were given away during the afternoon.
Following “Rev It Up”, Mike from Crossroads Truck Repair set up his large wrecker as an anchor for vehicles during “The Burn Out”. One by one vehicles rolling into the spot and chained up their vehicles to the wrecker. Putting the pedal to the floor, each contestant, including the station’s own WRUP Van, spun their tires and let the smoke fill the air! Everyone had an impressive display but only one could be the winner of 2 brand new tires from Pomp’s Tire!
We put our grand prize to the test too
There were many fun door prizes donated by local businesses including Pomp’s Tire, Super One, and Great Lakes Radio! Spectators and participants enjoyed delicious brats from Smokehouse Glenn and Mama Russo’s and cooled off with some Willy Nilly’s Frozen Treats!
